11:28 pm - Every day, just a bit more accomplished... Sorry I haven't been writing! The incision in my upper arm was 8.25 inches long and deep enough to show the nerves...that translates to a lot of healing. I get sore sitting in front of the computer. I do plan on writing, but, dribs and drabs for now. The body demands slow going again. Hugs to you all! Current Mood: moody

10:50 pm - Thinking of pulling out of Severus Big Bang... I get to sit longer at the computer next weekend and realized that my on-line friend who promised to read over the portion of my SBB piece months ago, never did. *sad* I think I'd do better to just write the piece out, on my own, and post it when Severus finally turns 50; without being part of the SBB. Too sad. *dismayed* I've got a day to think on it, but looking back at my e-mails, the time missed for input and help seems to working against my participating in the formal Big Bang. I'll check the forum, and then, decide. I like participating, but I do wish folks who say they'll help would do so or let me know not to rely on their offer if real life intervenes. *glum* Current Mood: disappointed

Two hundred twelve days ago, I found out how much I'd be missed. Two hundred twelve days ago, I found out I'm tougher than the average bear. Today, all those fireworks are 1% mine, for my independence from the hospital, for my liberty to walk and talk and type. Yeah, today, I celebrate! They did not miss the tingle of his fingertips as they swept across his eyelids, a soft benediction that always drew him into the light. They did not trace the faint scar on his temple with a curious finger as he had the night before. They did not hold his hand as he grew cold and still, as he had. There had been no warning, no sudden onslaught. Death came, conquered, and broke his heart. He stood on the windswept hill, the nodding heads of flowering grassed shedding flowers as he wept. Soon, he whispered, soon, I'll come to you. My world is empty without you, without your strength, your wit. I can no longer see the sky for my tears, I can no longer feel the warmth for my grief. They--that nebulous entity--found him three days later, a calm emptiness in his features. He rested against his lover's crypt, wrapped in that self-same lover's dark cloak, a sprig of heart's-ease pinned to his cloak. When the sun is high, and the wind is gentle, they say you can hear a murmur of mingled voices, shared love that can never be lost...if one but hopes. That is what they say.
